Ralph Gibson

Portrait of Ralph Gibson

Ralph became a local committee member of the South Taranaki branch in the late 70s after the birth of his and Janice’s second child, Samuel, born with osteogenesis imperfecta. The then Crippled Children Society played a very positive role in the family and Ralph and Janice felt they wanted to give something back to the organisation.

After several years on the committee, some as Vice President, Ralph became President of the South Taranaki branch. The last number of years, Ralph has been a member of the Local Committee with a focus on finance, but he has recently taken on the role of Chair of the Central and South Taranaki branch.

Ralph and Janice were in business in South Taranaki for over 40 years, selling out a few years ago to have time for other things. Life is still busy – Ralph has also been a company director of a number of private companies and still has governance roles on other Charitable Incorporated Society organisations.
