Karen Tait

Kia ora koutou. I live in Gisborne with my husband Lee. My family are from Tairawhiti and after many years in Auckland, I have returned home. Lee and I have two children, three grandchildren and three greats!

I have lived experience with disability since age five, as has my son since he was three. I once practised as a Social Worker for CCS Disability Action in the Royal Oak branch. This was rewarding work and I loved every minute of it. I now look forward to being of service in a governance role to the members of Tairāwhiti and Hawke’s Bay.
